Beyond Abilities is growing at a rapid pace and now on the NDIS registration journey. As a result, we are on the lookout for genuine, motivated, respectful, independent, versitile and intrapreneurial individuals who have a passion for assisting people with different abilities to achieve their goals whilst making a difference in the world. 

What type of work is available?

Development Mentors work across our Skills Central programs, and support people with different abilities to learn basic life skills that will assist them to live their lives with choice and control.

Some of the duties that you may be required to complete could involve assistance with daily living, program delivery, strategy development, mentoring, personal care support, transport assistance, social & recreation support, skill development and education.

As an Development Mentor, you will be supporting people with different abilities to build their independence, learn new skills and have choice and control over their lives. Their choices, goals and aspirations will be the guide and blueprint for your support with that individual. 

From time to time work may be offered from our Ability Consulting, SAS Club and Happy House services as well.

Do I need experience?

Whilst experience in the industry is preferred, at Beyond Abilities we are more interested in what you are capable of, your dedication to supporting people and helping to change the world, your willingness to step outside your comfort zone and develop yourself both personally and professionally as well as your ABILITY to go above and beyond with the people you support and with everything you do in life. 

There are however some things you must have in order to work with us.

 

Essential Criteria:

  • A clear National Police Check

  • A verified Working with Children's Check or willingness to obtain

  • A current First Aid certificate

  • A current drivers licence

  • A comprehensively insured vehicle

  • Be reliable and flexible

  • Have experience of program delivery and/or teaching and/or mentoring

  • Have the capacity to work independently and as part of a team

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Access to a computer or smartphone with internet access

  • Willingness to listen and give feedback as well as provide positive contribution

  • Commitment to supporting and empowering people with different abilities
